The hardest things are always said last… ( going on hiatus ).

As I push the 100 and something blog post threshold I feel myself losing interest. Perhaps it has a little to do with how hectic/busy my rl has gotten since this semester’s began. Like for example, I took pictures last week and I am not entirely satisfied with them but, I figured to achieve the ‘looks’ I want, I’d need to dedicate more time to the process… more time, which, I certainly don’t have.

So, what’s the basis of all this? Is it a subtle hint into the near future? Maybe… because, as it is this year will be an eventful one. I am graduating in the summer and making plans for grad school or pursuing a second degree. I’ll be leaning towards the latter but, I am certain my performance by the end of this semester will be the defining factor all around.

Oh, and not to mention, I’ll be moving in less than a month. Now, not to put my entire reallife out there because, I’ve always strived to maintain a certain amount of anonymity but, I think it is important everyone who cares understands the reasons behind my prolonged absences hence! the explanation…out of respect mostly… Because, I just think it’s rude to disappear without a word and not to the mention, the speculations that might arise as some people have no problem blatantly impersonating others ( e.g the never ending copybot crisis and the things in between) ~ of course, that’s another story for another blog post.

Anyway, I hope you’ve enjoyed my short ado about absences!. When I am officially back, you’ll be the first to know!

New year renovations and a shape!.

So, I spontaneously decided to tweak up my mini shop, Jumphearts, for the new year. As far as I can remember the last time I had done any major renovation was at least 8 months ago? So, I got tired of staring at the same old stuff and decided to get to work. Oh my goodness! almost a hundred hours later and some suggestions from Daphne and Tobias over at [HANDverk] I came up with this; taaadddaaaaa!. What do you think? yay? or nay? here’s a TAXI if you wanna check it out!.

I found this gorgeous house at marketplace by Kessi Andretti creator behind Sweet Harmony. My parcel is on the low prim side so I had to compromise a lot and ended up modifying the house down to about 20 prims. Overall, I was going for simple look and I’m happy with the results. Besides, I go googoogahgah for shabby chic or vintage houses anyday!. Oh! While on the subject of houses check out these from Willow’s. I am not familiar with her designs but, ran across them after I had purchased my house from Sweet harmony already. Anyway, If you’re looking for extremely cheap ( I mean as low as 10L ),cute and low prim shabby chic houses Willow’s seems very promising!.

Anyway, here’s a shot of me grinning my head off after I had finished EVERYTHING!. Although there are still a few things I’d like to change I am pretty content with how it’s turned out.

Also, I finally went ahead and got one of PINKFUEL’s Elly skins. I had been obsessing over her lipgloss collection which you can’t buy individually! … I went ahead and invested in one of her skins. Surprisingly enough -or not- I fell in love with the skin and decided to whip up a shape!. So, here’s to shape 003! dedicated to Pinkfuel!. I hope you like it \o/ .

Hey! So, I was away for a few days on vacation, I don’t know if I should even call it a “vacation” since that term should be defined as a period of recreation. Without going into much detail let’s just say going on “vacation” with family to visit family is like deliberately committing one’s self to an asylum with a window view of a lighthouse. Sound exciting? Yeah, I know.

Anyway, there is however, always something exciting to come back to on the grid. I have on one of lelutka’s latest releases and I have to literally restrain myself from gushing all over this outfit, I wish my pictures could have done it enough justice.

The most exciting thing about sl is dressing up like this and walking around without anyone giving you a ‘second look”. Another exciting part is finding the perfect “scene” when it comes to taking pictures. One of my favorite blogs to visit for scenery inspirations is avatar’s in motion. I have to admit, in my opinion, her blog is one of the most beautiful blogs I’ve ever come across.

Anyway, on to the look of the day- If I haven’t already creeped you out and scared you off-. I am having a blast with the makeup pack I picked up from Nuuna Skins’ store. If you’re into this stuff like I am, go visit her store and have fun drooling as much as I did.

Also, I got that dress a while back and absolutely loved it, except I am pretty sure it would look pretty odd with an overly active ao. Luckily it comes with two alpha layer options so your legs don’t pop out as you walk. And it has a few other options ( shorter and so on) Pretty awesome right? I might be venturing into an unknown abyss with this post but, bare with me, I am only a blogger and the only thing that really catches my eye, if anything, is fashion and great style. I appreciate uniqueness, whichever community it is from. Which is why today you get to see a different side of my experience in the secondlife fashion community, proundly presented by me and of course sponsored by *{ SeVered GarDeN }*! (Thank you so much for your support, generosity and amazing creativity!) along with multiple-talented secondlife designers! Who have the daily courage to bring you amazing designs like these every, single, day… or week, but that’s besides the point.

Today, we’ll talk about Gor. Yeah, you read that right!, go back and read it over again if you’d like. As, some of you know, there is a large community of Gorean Roleplayers in secondlife. Just type the word “gor” in search and viola! a large collection comes up ( please,do this ONLY if you are over 18, as all gorean sims are rated R or NSFW!) Here’s a list of some pretty good ones in no particular order, depending on the kind of roleplay you are seeking ( but, that’s another story, which is not necessarily ment for this post as I refuse to touch on the on-going saga in gorean roleplay). How did I come about all this information you might ask?, well, for the past few months I have been trying my hand at various roleplay sims. Recently I gave gor another shot, after a day or two I landed myself in a group! with the Ghost Outlaws as a “kajira” also known as a slave. No, it is nothing like the slavery of old which most of us have learned about in school and such. Nor does it have too many similiarities to bdsm as most of secondlife assumes. It’s quite the contrary which I have discovered over the past couple of weeks.

Anyway, all this aside, my favorite pasttime was-you guessed it! “dressing up!!“. Kajirae’s are required to dress appealingly or perhaps raunchy. I will be keeping things a little polite for this post. Enjoy!.

Express yourself…

This a boring story about my eyebrows!. It started off with a single obsession;matching eyebrows. Somehow, it just doesn’t look right if your hairline doesnt match your eyebrows. This is a personal pet pev of mine. So, with the extended capabilities of viewer 2 my quest for matching brows began.

Here’s a pictorial guide and I will narrate each picture accordingly.

1. I started with this skin [ Miranova by unBra ]. I loved the body details especially how realistic the boobs were!  As I had decided to suddenly go blonde, the daunting issue of; unmatching brows came up. Unfortunately, the creator doesn’t do brow bases just yet. Pity.

2. I considered Laq’s eyebrow and hairbase combination I had used on my main character‘s skin. That clearly didn’t blend in so well as it was actually meant for a Laq skin and nothing else.

3. As I moved my search toward the unknown, I tried marketplace and found these brows done by a creator I will not mention here . There is obviously nothing to be said here.You can easily judge this one for yourselves. Be careful what you purchase on marketplace!

4. Then I considered buying a laq skin again ( the same skin my main character wears). Eh, too similiar.

If you haven’t been living under a rock you would have at least heard of the unfortunate events that have befallen the pacific region, and with that little hint there will be no need of an explanation. But of course, if the above applies to you ( you’ve been living under a rock that is)… try coming out for a tan sometime will ya?.
One thing I’ve come to embrace about secondlife, aside from the excruciating lag, hospitable grievers and wanna be ” it ” girls/men ( vise-versa, or both, whatever, take your pick ) is their charitable nature. When, it really comes down to it – they give.

So, while this may be redundant to some of you on flickr there are the rest of us who want to do something to help out but, probably aren’t too keen on traveling all the way out to Japan for some hands on aide, with that being said, here are a list of various events in and around secondlife pertaining to fund raising efforts. The designers involved in these events are donating 100 percent of their proceeds toward monetary relief efforts ( unless stated otherwise). Please be a doll and lend a helping hand. <3

The Pacific Crisis Fundraiser

An emergency fundraising effort for the victims of the crisis in the Pacific that hit on the 10th/11th of march is being set up.
SL is an international community, with a strong base in Japan specifically. This disaster is worldwide and affects us all, as a community SL has risen up time and time again to help out in times of distress, including very recently.
In september 2010 11,000 us dollars was raised for the pakistan flood crisis relief fund (UNICEF) at an sl event. An event organised in four days. This is an example of what our community can do, and we are attempting to prepare for a similar, simple but effective, event.
We are calling for anyone who wishes to help with this fundraiser. We will be providing vendors that donate 100% of sales to a charity account (Charity Shelter) for people to place in their stores and at an event location

The big earthquake hit japan in 11 March 2011. This earthquake is biggest one since Meiji era (1868~~) in Japan. So many parts in Japan were dameged by this earthquake, especially North part of Japan had a disastrous earthquake. We organizeda foundation of this earthquake. Donation will be donated to Japanese Red Cross Society(http://www.jrc.or.jp/). Thank you for your assistance and cooperation.

When we kill paradise.

Sometimes when we get so engulfed in something we find flaws unexpectedly and that’s when your heart drops and you feel a lot more disappointed than you normally would.

Here’s my case in point; I was prancing around sl with this beautiful number, another one of Phoenix Rising’s imaculate pieces (see here and here) and I kept noticing an odd green strip of fabric that just wouldn’t blend nicely with the other prims. I clicked around a bit and viola! found the culprit. For some reason unbeknown to me the creator must have forgotten to add on the right texture. Here’s a screen cap of what I mean.

Edit: For those who haven’t looked at the screencap carefully. It is not a tinting issue. It’s an entirely different texture. If you look closely you can see the color cube tinted to brown .. and now take a look at the texture cube… it’s an entirely different texture from the others… so that explains the green color on the prim and the fact that it obviously wouldn’t just blend in. Hope that explains any confusions. If it were something that was easily tint-able I would have fixed it and then blogged the fix. But this is a different texture.

This disheartens me a lot especially since you guys know how much I love Phoenix Rising. Sighs.. anyway, on to the remaining fabulousness left in this gown.
