The hardest things are always said last… ( going on hiatus ).

As I push the 100 and something blog post threshold I feel myself losing interest. Perhaps it has a little to do with how hectic/busy my rl has gotten since this semester’s began. Like for example, I took pictures last week and I am not entirely satisfied with them but, I figured to achieve the ‘looks’ I want, I’d need to dedicate more time to the process… more time, which, I certainly don’t have.

So, what’s the basis of all this? Is it a subtle hint into the near future? Maybe… because, as it is this year will be an eventful one. I am graduating in the summer and making plans for grad school or pursuing a second degree. I’ll be leaning towards the latter but, I am certain my performance by the end of this semester will be the defining factor all around.

Oh, and not to mention, I’ll be moving in less than a month. Now, not to put my entire reallife out there because, I’ve always strived to maintain a certain amount of anonymity but, I think it is important everyone who cares understands the reasons behind my prolonged absences hence! the explanation…out of respect mostly… Because, I just think it’s rude to disappear without a word and not to the mention, the speculations that might arise as some people have no problem blatantly impersonating others ( e.g the never ending copybot crisis and the things in between) ~ of course, that’s another story for another blog post.

Anyway, I hope you’ve enjoyed my short ado about absences!. When I am officially back, you’ll be the first to know!

New year renovations and a shape!.

So, I spontaneously decided to tweak up my mini shop, Jumphearts, for the new year. As far as I can remember the last time I had done any major renovation was at least 8 months ago? So, I got tired of staring at the same old stuff and decided to get to work. Oh my goodness! almost a hundred hours later and some suggestions from Daphne and Tobias over at [HANDverk] I came up with this; taaadddaaaaa!. What do you think? yay? or nay? here’s a TAXI if you wanna check it out!.

I found this gorgeous house at marketplace by Kessi Andretti creator behind Sweet Harmony. My parcel is on the low prim side so I had to compromise a lot and ended up modifying the house down to about 20 prims. Overall, I was going for simple look and I’m happy with the results. Besides, I go googoogahgah for shabby chic or vintage houses anyday!. Oh! While on the subject of houses check out these from Willow’s. I am not familiar with her designs but, ran across them after I had purchased my house from Sweet harmony already. Anyway, If you’re looking for extremely cheap ( I mean as low as 10L ),cute and low prim shabby chic houses Willow’s seems very promising!.

Anyway, here’s a shot of me grinning my head off after I had finished EVERYTHING!. Although there are still a few things I’d like to change I am pretty content with how it’s turned out.

Also, I finally went ahead and got one of PINKFUEL’s Elly skins. I had been obsessing over her lipgloss collection which you can’t buy individually! … I went ahead and invested in one of her skins. Surprisingly enough -or not- I fell in love with the skin and decided to whip up a shape!. So, here’s to shape 003! dedicated to Pinkfuel!. I hope you like it \o/ .

Hello, dear friends,

If I could go on a rant about the things that annoy me in the secondlife design community I could go on and on about how much copybotting, lack of originality and lack of respect keeps gnawing away at the essence and integrity of our fashion community.

We all have a part to play in making all this fun, imagine what it would be like if we all cooperated with each other? Drop the copy botting, search harder for original ideas… just imagine.

You’re probably wondering where all this has stemmed from. Well, part of it has to do with this skin from (love) which I blogged about a few days ago HERE. As you’ll notice, the item is no longer available at Mae Liamano’s store. I was curious as to what had happened to it and why it was no longer available. It turns out that the seller of the templates which Mae had purchased was later banned for selling copybotted templates causing a series of domino effects, Mae’s skin being one of the victims. Imagine how disheartening this was to me, especially since I had literally spent months searching for a skin I liked with no luck. And as I finally find one it turns out to be too good to be true.*shrugs* Will I stop wearing this skin though? No, at least not until I find another skin to replace this one because, though it’s background is unfortunately shady, that doesn’t take anything away from the work, time and effort Mae put into the skin and of course I refuse to waste the L I spent on it. So there, judge me if you like but, at least I’d be judged in a pretty skin

Another sad situation, is this unfortunate incident going on, on flickr concerning a blogger, a designer and copybotting ( please take the time to read this if you are a designer ).

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged anything. Back to school, you get the drift. Anyway, while i was away I missed out on the premier of MESH across the grid but, I’m sure you probably got enough coverage on it ( I still kept myself up-to-date via flickr and fashion feeds). I however was a little skeptical on some of the items released. Luckily you can demo your outfit or whatever before you purchase it which I think is a nice addition because, sometimes a picture can exaggerate the goodness of things.

Here, I managed to collect two of my ( so far ) favorite mesh items. This hair by /Wasabi Pills/ and these thigh high pumps by Slink. The pumps I have to admit are exceptional!. I’ve always been a fan of thigh high boots except in sl (before) your best bet was to walk or stand because, once you sat down the beauty of your boots were out the window.

Gosh, so exciting!. On that note, hope to see you guys soon, and as always,

P.s :: I heard about the discontinuation of Kristen’s viewer and my heart dropped. So far I have been trying to tackle with the picture taking capabilities of the firestorm viewer and I can’t say I am remotely impressed. I really miss Kristen’s viewer and I hope something turns up to help us ( photographers/bloggers ) with our picture taking needs.

Let’s get it over and just get naked!.

I appreciate unique skins, the beautiful ones, the creepy, interesting, hand drawn and so on. Fact is, trying on skins and making shapes for that particular skin is fun!.I may not change skins often since there is something familiar about wearing the same skin everyday ( that of course is until i get tired of it ).

Anyway, so most of you have probably heard of the skin line Esuga by Eilfie Sugarplum. I discovered her flickr stream last year (2010) and was intrigued by her unique skins. At the time they were in early stages and she was still doing a lot of tweaking.

Long synopsis short she released another skin recently, named DASH inspired by the gorgeous actress Stacy Dash. I took one look at those lips and RAN over to her store to pick them up. I can positively say I love this skin!. The lips are just completely adorable and the entire skin appears to be seamless. I do however wish the bottom eyeliner was on the eyeline and not outside of because, it made adjusting the eyes a bit of a challenge.

Anyway, because I liked this skin so much I went ahead and created a shape for it!. I have set the shape out at Jumphearts ( the blog shop ).

Hey! So, I was away for a few days on vacation, I don’t know if I should even call it a “vacation” since that term should be defined as a period of recreation. Without going into much detail let’s just say going on “vacation” with family to visit family is like deliberately committing one’s self to an asylum with a window view of a lighthouse. Sound exciting? Yeah, I know.

Collecting shoes.

You know that question people usually ask, “ If you were stuck on an island what are somethings you would like to have with you, that you can’t live without?” Why doesn’t anyone ever say shoes? Well, at least I’ve never heard anyone say they’d like to have a nice pair of shoes.

I’ve been collecting again dear friends, summer is nearly over and my “shoe” folder in world is nearly bursting at the seams. Finding the right pair of shoes in sl is like going through an old purse and finding a nips candy you had forgotten about  . Nips is my favorite candy, if you’re not a Nips kind of person, think of your favorite candy and apply it to the same scenario. Anyway, enough ado about nothing. With the number of changes taking place across the grid sometimes when I log in I feel clouded by things such as; trying to find the “new inventory” button on viewer 2 or asking myself “ where’d they put that feature now?”. I think change is good and some research states that it stimulates the brain, putting it to use, which is always a good thing right?.

Anyway, I recently blogged about L’amant’s debut here as well as the group gift. And while at L’amant’s preview stall I also bought this fabulous all black gown which comes with the lace piece which hides the face, giving it some mystery.

I think L’amant’s designer has definitely done well with this sculpted skirt and I am impressed. As some of you know I am attracted to avante grande, couture style pieces so this dress was definitely right up my alley. The right dress always, always takes the cake.

I really like cybernetic looks and I think carrying swords is sexy so when I put this look together the other day ( yes, I have been walking around like this for a few days now ) I thought it was perfect but, when it came down to snapping the pictures, getting the perfect snapshot and location to get what I was trying to portray was damn near impossible.

Did I mention how much I love apple spice poses? Especially their action poses? I had to restrain myself yesterday while surfing through her collection but, I must say they were literally perfect for this sword.

Also, a good friend of mine, Onagh Ashbourne, who is an angel by the way filled me in on the new updates going on around sl. It seems like mesh will be rolling in really soon, by the end of August, are you ready?

In other news;

It’s awesome the things you discover on flickr just by browsing through it. It’s one of the only ways i update myself on what’s new in sl if I’ve been away for a while.

Anyway, I saw the skin I have on in this picture at lucifer luckless‘s stream and fell in love with the softness of the face. It’s still in beta and he’s doing a lot of tweaking so he’s looking for feedback and, I volunteered! and even modded my shape to create a face out of it.
