The hardest things are always said last… ( going on hiatus ).

As I push the 100 and something blog post threshold I feel myself losing interest. Perhaps it has a little to do with how hectic/busy my rl has gotten since this semester’s began. Like for example, I took pictures last week and I am not entirely satisfied with them but, I figured to achieve the ‘looks’ I want, I’d need to dedicate more time to the process… more time, which, I certainly don’t have.

So, what’s the basis of all this? Is it a subtle hint into the near future? Maybe… because, as it is this year will be an eventful one. I am graduating in the summer and making plans for grad school or pursuing a second degree. I’ll be leaning towards the latter but, I am certain my performance by the end of this semester will be the defining factor all around.

Oh, and not to mention, I’ll be moving in less than a month. Now, not to put my entire reallife out there because, I’ve always strived to maintain a certain amount of anonymity but, I think it is important everyone who cares understands the reasons behind my prolonged absences hence! the explanation…out of respect mostly… Because, I just think it’s rude to disappear without a word and not to the mention, the speculations that might arise as some people have no problem blatantly impersonating others ( e.g the never ending copybot crisis and the things in between) ~ of course, that’s another story for another blog post.

Anyway, I hope you’ve enjoyed my short ado about absences!. When I am officially back, you’ll be the first to know!

New year renovations and a shape!.

So, I spontaneously decided to tweak up my mini shop, Jumphearts, for the new year. As far as I can remember the last time I had done any major renovation was at least 8 months ago? So, I got tired of staring at the same old stuff and decided to get to work. Oh my goodness! almost a hundred hours later and some suggestions from Daphne and Tobias over at [HANDverk] I came up with this; taaadddaaaaa!. I found this gorgeous house at marketplace by Kessi Andretti creator behind Sweet Harmony. My parcel is on the low prim side so I had to compromise a lot and ended up modifying the house down to about 20 prims. Overall, I was going for simple look and I’m happy with the results. Besides, I go googoogahgah for shabby chic or vintage houses anyday!. Oh! While on the subject of houses check out these from Willow’s. I am not familiar with her designs but, ran across them after I had purchased my house from Sweet harmony already. Anyway, If you’re looking for extremely cheap ( I mean as low as 10L ),cute and low prim shabby chic houses Willow’s seems very promising!.

Anyway, here’s a shot of me grinning my head off after I had finished EVERYTHING!. Although there are still a few things I’d like to change I am pretty content with how it’s turned out.

Also, I finally went ahead and got one of PINKFUEL’s Elly skins. I had been obsessing over her lipgloss collection which you can’t buy individually! … I went ahead and invested in one of her skins. Surprisingly enough -or not- I fell in love with the skin and decided to whip up a shape!. So, here’s to shape 003! dedicated to Pinkfuel!. I hope you like it \o/ .

Hello, dear friends,

If I could go on a rant about the things that annoy me in the secondlife design community I could go on and on about how much copybotting, lack of originality and lack of respect keeps gnawing away at the essence and integrity of our fashion community.

We all have a part to play in making all this fun, imagine what it would be like if we all cooperated with each other? Drop the copy botting, search harder for original ideas… just imagine.

You’re probably wondering where all this has stemmed from. Well, part of it has to do with this skin from (love) which I blogged about a few days ago HERE. As you’ll notice, the item is no longer available at Mae Liamano’s store. I was curious as to what had happened to it and why it was no longer available. It turns out that the seller of the templates which Mae had purchased was later banned for selling copybotted templates causing a series of domino effects, Mae’s skin being one of the victims. Imagine how disheartening this was to me, especially since I had literally spent months searching for a skin I liked with no luck. And as I finally find one it turns out to be too good to be true.*shrugs* Will I stop wearing this skin though? No, at least not until I find another skin to replace this one because, though it’s background is unfortunately shady, that doesn’t take anything away from the work, time and effort Mae put into the skin and of course I refuse to waste the L I spent on it. So there, judge me if you like but, at least I’d be judged in a pretty skin

Another sad situation, is this unfortunate incident going on, on flickr concerning a blogger, a designer and copybotting ( please take the time to read this if you are a designer ).

I might be venturing into an unknown abyss with this post but, bare with me, I am only a blogger and the only thing that really catches my eye, if anything, is fashion and great style. I appreciate uniqueness, whichever community it is from. Which is why today you get to see a different side of my experience in the secondlife fashion community, proundly presented by me and of course sponsored by *{ SeVered GarDeN }*! Today, we’ll talk about Gor. Yeah, you read that right!, go back and read it over again if you’d like. As, some of you know, there is a large community of Gorean Roleplayers in secondlife. Just type the word “gor” in search and viola! a large collection comes up ( please,do this ONLY if you are over 18, as all gorean sims are rated R or NSFW!) Here’s a list of some pretty good ones in no particular order, depending on the kind of roleplay you are seeking ( but, that’s another story, which is not necessarily ment for this post as I refuse to touch on the on-going saga in gorean roleplay). If you are unfamiliar with Gorean roleplay you should probably wear an observer tag before you venture there, depending on how much you can gather within a few days or more, they might let you in.

How did I come about all this information you might ask?, well, for the past few months I have been trying my hand at various roleplay sims. Recently I gave gor another shot, after a day or two I landed myself in a group! with the Ghost Outlaws as a “kajira” also known as a slave. No, it is nothing like the slavery of old which most of us have learned about in school and such. Nor does it have too many similiarities to bdsm as most of secondlife assumes. It’s quite the contrary which I have discovered over the past couple of weeks.

Anyway, all this aside, my favorite pasttime was-you guessed it! “dressing up!!“. Kajirae’s are required to dress appealingly or perhaps raunchy. I will be keeping things a little polite for this post. Enjoy!.

I’m in the mood to dress up like a mutating faun and prance around sl, join me? =) . I hate to be an attention whore but, I get really pouty when I log in and none of my friends are on!!!. Oh haii thuurr!! . How are all you beautiful people doing today? So I came up with this look yesterday while playing around. I got inspired by Blur Mannequin creator of Ah Flou’s latest release, she’s an up and coming designer who knows patterns! The sculpts do need a little work but, because I know she has a lot of potential and I’m sooo in love with her pattern and color choices, I’ll over look that. And not to mention she’s such a sweetheart!

Seems to me like there has been a huge influx of shaggy, vintage patterns all across flickr… and believe me, this makes me very happy. I love all things pretty and worn and… hehehe don’t let me carry on.

When we kill paradise.

Sometimes when we get so engulfed in something we find flaws unexpectedly and that’s when your heart drops and you feel a lot more disappointed than you normally would.

Here’s my case in point; I was prancing around sl with this beautiful number, another one of Phoenix Rising’s imaculate pieces (see here and here) and I kept noticing an odd green strip of fabric that just wouldn’t blend nicely with the other prims. I clicked around a bit and viola! found the culprit. For some reason unbeknown to me the creator must have forgotten to add on the right texture. Here’s a screen cap of what I mean.

Edit: For those who haven’t looked at the screencap carefully. It is not a tinting issue. It’s an entirely different texture. If you look closely you can see the color cube tinted to brown .. and now take a look at the texture cube… it’s an entirely different texture from the others… so that explains the green color on the prim and the fact that it obviously wouldn’t just blend in. Hope that explains any confusions. If it were something that was easily tint-able I would have fixed it and then blogged the fix. But this is a different texture.
